Participating in the 187th Savitribai Phule jayanthi celebrations held at Pushkar Ghat here on Wednesday, he said every women should emulate the great leader of womenfolk. She was a strong fighter for women’s rights in her times and supported women’s education and succeeded in her endeavour. Savitribai Phule believed that no development could be possible if women remained illiterate.
“The women of today have been reaping fruits of her relentless struggle,” he added. He underlined the need to educate women for their overall development. BC Praja Samkshema Sangham organized the celebrations.
