Andhra Pradesh State Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation has been conducting a theatre competition titled ‘Nandi Natakotsavam’ at Ramakrishna Kavi Kalakshetram, Tenali from February 2. As part of the event four plays by children and three plays by the youth were staged.

The event commenced by a children’s play ‘Vasudhaika Kutumbam’ by GVR Kala Kendram, Tadepalligudem. This play was written by Sukhamanchi Koteswara Rao and directed by TVM Krishna Rao. This was followed by another children play titled ‘Manavi’ by Deepti School of Fine Arts, Palakollu. This was penned by MR Ganta and directed by P Ugadi. Another children’s play ‘Sila Pushpalu’ was presented by Siddhartha Creative School, Vijayawada, which was written by A Bhaskara Chandra and directed by V Manikrishna.

An excellent visual treat ‘Uuru Bhangam’ was presented by Young Theatre Organisation and Sidhartha Women College, Vijayawada. The original mythological version was of Mahakavi Bhasa and well directed by R Vasu. Vocal support of Sagar had added flavor to the play. The next play ‘Chalicheemalu’ was presented by PB Sidhartha Arts & Science College, Vijayawada which was written and directed by MS Chowdary.

Lakshmi devi Gupta Junior College, Dharmapuri presented a social play titled ‘Chesukunnanta Mahadeva’. Pilla Ramprasad written and directed this play. The category of youth and children play was concluded by the play of Sri Vidya English Medium School, Bhimavaram. The play “ Gaju bommalu” was written by Harika and directed by K Lokesh. Many It was announced that the verse plays (Padya natakalu) will be staged at the same venue from Friday.
