Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao promised to provide 12 per cent reservation to the Lambadas and also convert the thandas into village panchayats once Telangana state was formed.
He also promised them that he would personally take the responsibility to ensure that the thandas of Devarakonda will get potable drinking water. Addressing a meeting organised to admit Devarakonda Congress leader Lakshmi Lalu Naik along with her supporters at TRS Bhavan, he said now, it is for the tribals and other sections in the region to fight for the cause.
The T movement has reached its peak to mount pressure on the Centre and it is a good sign that people from every nook and corner are exuding confidence on TRS, he said.
We would not relent until our goal of statehood was achieved. The Centre at least now addresses the long pending issue or the Congress will bite the dust, he warned.
