Hyderabad: Nominations for Spoorthi Awards-2013 have been invited by the Bommidala Srikrishnamurthy Foundation (BSF), Guntur, which had constituted the awards 17 years ago to felicitate individuals and organisations which excel in the field of agriculture, rural poverty, education and health.
The BSF chairman, former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice Dr Ambati Lakshman Rao said that a sum of Rs 2 lakh, a memento and a certificate of appreciation is being given annually as part of Spoorthi Awards since 17 years.Inviting nominations from the persons, bodies for the above mentioned fields, he along with Historian Prof. Vakulabharanam Ramakrishna briefed about the awards at Somajiguda Press club on Monday.
The nominations can be sent to BTC Road, 5th line, Chandramouli Nagar, Guntur on or before July 15. The nomination from persons who work in politics and self declared ones will be rejected. Janachaitanya Vedika state president, V Lakshma Reddy said, "With a motive to serve the society, the awards were constituted. In order to recognise the persons and entities that strive hard to bring about a change in the society, BSF has been working hard in this direction."
Along with Justice Dr Ambati Lakshman Rao and Prof. Vakulabharanam, civil rights activist EAS Sharma, Prominent person Dr K Vasudeva Rao will be judges for the awards. For more details people are told to visit www. spoorthi awards.com.
