pe2 Armur (Nizamabad): About 20 peacocks died after drinking water in the outskirts of Mamidipalli village of Armur mandal. Deputy Forest Range officer Sandeep Kumar said that the peacocks must have died two or three days back. The animals and birds in the forest area could not find water to drink and approach villages to quench the thirst. However, unknowingly, the wild animals are drinking water laced with various chemicals resulting in their death. The Forest department is supposed to provide drinking water to the wild animals and birds by arranging cement water tanks at various places in the forest. These wild creatures have been venturing in villages to quench the thirst. In November 2011, eight peacocks died in Balkonda mandal of the district after they drank water laced with chemical fertiliser. A Earlier in April and May of the same year, 21 peacocks were found dead at Bhimgal mandal. Now, about 20- peacocks died.
