Naidu Flays Govt for Inadequate Relief Operations, Inhuman Approach, Horticulture Farmers. TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday met the farmers who suffered immensely on account of incessant rains in the last five days

TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday met the farmers who suffered immensely on account of incessant rains in the last five days, criticised the Congress government for its ‘inept handling’ of the situation and ‘inhuman approach’ in providing succor to the affected people. He said the government tried to wash its hands off by giving 10 kg rice while the neighbouring Odisha government had given 50 kg rice and Rs 1,000 as immediate relief to the rain-affected people.

He said in Haryana, the government was paying compensation of Rs 10,000 per acre in case the crop got affected due to natural calamities but here the state government had so far not come forward with any such help.
He demanded that the government give Rs 25,000 per hectare for paddy crop and Rs 50,000 for horticulture farmers.
Naidu also announced that if his party was voted to power, it would write off agricultural loans. He visited Kanchali, Ichhapuram, Kaviti mandals. His convoy was stopped at several places and people wanted him to listen to their woes. Naidu not only obliged them but also got down from his vehicle near Devadi and examined the crop that was inundated under water. At Kanchali mandal, he garlanded the statue of N T Rama Rao and addressed the farmers and fishermen who had gathered there.
However, Naidu had a taste of the United Andhra agitation as he was stopped at many places and demanded that he should strive to ensure that the state remained united. At Palasa mandal, party activists and pro-united Andhra agitators met him and submitted a memorandum demanding that the state be not divided. They shouted slogans “Jai Samaikyandhra” and took out a rally.
Addressing the rally, he said it was YS Rajasekhara Reddy who had initiated the movement for bifurcation of the State. Later he tweeted that his heart goes out to the people who were affected by rains. He remembered K Yerranaidu and said this was the first time that he was visiting the district after the death of Yerranaidu.
He lashed out at the YSRCP and the Congress parties, alleging that they had entered into ‘match fixing’ and were cheating the people.
