Differently-abled candidates led by the National Platform for Rights of Disabled on Monday staged a dharna near the Secretariat, demanding that the government fill up the backlog teachers’ posts listed for DSC-2012. The police took them into custody and shifted them to Saifabad police station. The candidates were released later.
Platform General Secretary T Rajender said that the government had filled up 439 posts with disabled persons out of the 1,004 posts notified for DSC – 2012. But, there were 565 posts yet to be filled by the differently-abled persons. He said that they had taken the issue to the notice of higher officials, but in vain.
