Special health programmes for adolescents at Niloufer

Hyderabad: Yuva- an adolescent health and social counseling centre at Niloufer was launched on Thursday as part of the week-long special health programme - “Children and their health” for 9-19 years.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Himabindu, President, Indian Pediatric Association, Hyderabad branch, said that programme would continue till November 2. “As part of this programme we check the health conditions of adolescent boys and girls and give counseling and advice for necessary treatments,” she added.

Dr Himabindu also said that the programme would be extended to number of schools and colleges too. “Special programmes will be organised in different places in the city including Yusufguda Service Home on November 15, Boggulakunta on November 16, Boiguda Don Bosco School on November 17, Mahila Junior College, Nampally, on November 18, Ameerpet UPHC on November 19 and Niloufer Yuva Kendra on November 20, ” she said.

“We check both physical as well as psychological ailments of adolescent girls and boys and will focus on pediatric health also in this programme,” Dr Himabindu explained.
