Siddipet: Comments of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy about trying to convert the ‘Rachabanda’ programme in Visakhapatnam into a political forum is unconstitutional, Telaganana Rashtra Samiti, MLA, T Harish Rao contended here on Friday.
Addressing press persons, he accused Kiran Kumar Reddy, of violating the constitution after taking an oath that he would function without showing any regional bias. “His comments show that he is confined to only the Seemandhra region. They are unconstitutional and reveal how a thief he himself is alerting others about the crime.”
Rao objected to the Chief Minister sending reports directly to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana, not approved by the State Cabinet.
He wanted Governor E S L Narasimhan to intervene and dismiss Kiran Kumar Reddy, as he was ‘abusing’ his position and resorting to ‘corruption’.
The TRS legislator said that the Chief Minister even while maintaining that he would not mind losing the post in the event of the state’s division was continuing in office. He challenged Kiran to resign if ‘he has the guts’.
He claimed that the people of Telangana would not believe the Chief Minister’s contention that they would lose more if a separate state was formed.
