As many as 4 people died due to Helen as heavy rain lashed coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh under the influence of severe cyclonic storm over west central Bay of Bengal. According to sources, 8,000 people have been already evacuated to safer places of which 3,000 people belong to West Godavari district. They are provided with all amenities like food, medicines etc. Of the four deceased, according to officials, two persons hail from Krishna district. They lost their lives when a huge tree falls on them.

The meterological department has announced for heavy rain and intrepid winds in other coastal districts like Guntur, East Godavari among others.

Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy called on for a review meeting to assess the situation arose out of cyclone storm with chief secretary and the collectors of coastal districts on Friday morning, according to sources.The weather warning center has alerted with gale winds with an approximate speed of 100-110 kmph to Prakasham; Guntur; Krishna; East and West Godavari; and Vishakhapatnam districts during next 12 hours. It is also likely that Telangana districts also will have spurious rain falls in many places due to Helen.
