Hyderabad: A large number of students belonging different organisations of the University of Hyderabad on Wednesday staged protest in front of administrative building, demanding resignation of Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramakrishna Ramaswamy, holding him responsible for the suicide of Ph D student M Venkatesh on November 24.
Student Federation of India (SFI) president P Omkar demanded an in-depth probe by a retired judge of the High Court into all of the student suicides on the campus. He said the authorities should also pay compensation to the kin of the deceased as students, mostly, hail from marginalised and Dalit communities.They demanded implementation of recommendations suggested by Prof Vinod Pavarala’s committee constituted following suicide of Pulyala Raju.
