Fake voter ID cards of Kat, Pawan in city

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal was taken aback on Friday when a reporter of a vernacular channel showed him that Katrina Kaif was issued a voter ID in the city from Qutubullahpur constituency.

He immediately took a copy of the ID card and ordered probe over it. Even Power Star Pawan Kalyan was also issued a card in the same constituency.

Interestingly, no address was noted for both the film stars. When a member of a family, whose name is in the voters list moved out of the city or dead, his or her name will be replaced. Perhaps Katrina’s name would have been filled in the place of a voter ID list of a family like that, officials explained.

“When cards of this sort are issued, definitely it is a deliberate act by somebody. I admit that some of the enrollment officers are lax. We will find out the culprits and take action against them,” they said.
