Hyderabad : Strongly opposing the Centre’s move to get the “AP Re-organisation Bill” passed in Parliament bypassing constitutional procedure, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu said that he would take the issue to the people’s court and expose the evil designs of the Congress party. At a media conference on Friday, Naidu said the TDP was not opposed to bifurcation but was opposing the manner in which the Congress government was bulldozing and trying to go ahead with its decision to divide the state.

He said the TDP would continue its fight against the Congress party till it agrees to call the stakeholders, not the political parties and did equal justice to all regions. Naidu alleged that the Congress never thought it desirable to take into consideration the views of State Assembly and other stakeholders.

Tabling the Bill without circulating it among the union ministers before the cabinet meeting was itself a major blunder committed by the centre. He said he failed to understand why the Centre was showing undue haste in going ahead with the process without following established conventions and practices.

The TDP leader sought to know why Union Finance minister P Chidambaram bulldozed the union ministers from Seemandhra region when they requested to defer the issue and give some time to read the draft document before ratifying it.

Branding the Group of Ministers (GoM ) on Telangana as a “ Gang of Ministers,” Naidu said the exercise by the GoM on the Bill had failed to address and clarify important issues such as the status of Article 371 (D), Hyderabad as common capital , development of new capital and special package for the residuary state, education and employment opportunities and water sharing between the two states. “The ruling Congress created a wedge among the people of both regions for its political gains,” he said.

Lashing at the AICC president Sonai Gandhi, the TDP leader said the “Italian woman divided Telugu people on her own wish without addressing the demand for equal justice”. Naidu said that TDP leaders would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, national leaders and other partnersto mobilize support against the Centre’s decision and to take the fight to the doorstep of the Congress party. Naidu said the people would bury Congress for resorting to ‘manipulative politics’ on the contentious issue in the next general election. The TDP president faulted the GoM for its claim that it sought the opinion of all parties before taking a final decision on Telangana. He said the TDP stayed away from the all-party meeting and when the major opposition party in state boycotted a meeting, the Congress should have tried to know the reason.
