Kurnool: Minister T G Venkatesh on Sunday called upon the party high command to change the decision on the State’s bifurcation.
Addressing a meeting of political leaders, convened by the Samaikyandhra JAC, he asserted that the division could be stopped by laying siege to New Delhi.
He said the Seemandhra leaders were working to get the Assembly dissolved or defeat the Telangana Bill. Their sole interest was to keep the State united, as a majority of the people were against the division. This would embolden the leaders even to go against the high command. Venkatesh urged the leaders to take part in the agitation, keeping aside interests of the respective parties. S V Mohan Reddy, YSRCP Kurnool in-charge, suggested to the Seemandhra MLAs to pressure the speaker for allowing them to freely express views on bifurcation. He said the State’s division could be stopped if the Seemandhra MPs resigned.

Telugu Desam district president Somisetty Venkateswarlu expressed happiness that leaders of various parties had come on a common platform.
He wanted them to ‘save’ the State, by ensuring defeat of T Bill. BJP leader Kapileswaraiah said the party leaders would not agree to State’s division until ‘justice’ was done to Seemandhra. In this regard they would be going to Dehli for holding discussions with the Central leadership.
