Kurnool: Samaikyandhra activists observed Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s birthday as ‘Telugu people’s betrayal day’ here on Monday. The unified Andhra Pradesh supporters burnt Sonia’s effigy at Rajvihar Centre, protesting the UPA Government’s decision to divide the State.
Samaikyandhra JAC leader Janardhan told press persons that on December 9, 2009, the process of Telangana formation was announced by the Centre. Members of the JAC had protested on that day seeking people’s support for a united AP. The JAC activists took out a rally and laid siege to banks, forcing their closure. Telugu Desam leader Somisetti Venkateswarlu took part in the protests. Atmakur: Samaikyandhra JAC members observed ‘Telugu people’s betrayal day’ here by hoisting black flags. They organised protests opposing the Union Cabinet’s approval of the Telangana Bill.
