Says affidavits will help deter division

Naidu and Kiran ‘conspired’ to divide state
Reiterates his party’s stance on united cause
Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday called upon all MLAs, cutting across party lines, to submit affidavits in favour of ‘Samaikyandhra’ to President Pranab Mukherjee, who is in the city for his winter sojourn. Addressing the press here, he appealed to all Seemandhra MLAs to listen to their conscience and sign the affidavit seeking a united State and submit it to the President.
“The MLAs should rise above party affiliations as this is the moment to show your commitment for the cause of the united State,” he said.
Lashing out at Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan said Naidu has one foot in each region and keeps his mouth shut. The bravado of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who has been thundering that he would not allow division of the State, was also exposed by the way he had cleared the Bill in 17 hours and sent it to the Assembly. He said that the affidavits given to the President would become a deterrent to the undemocratic division of the State and would serve the intended purpose whether or not the Assembly takes up voting on the draft Bill.
Alleging that Naidu and Kiran had conspired to divide the State, Jagan said it was his party MP’s who moved no-confidence motion against UPA and also supported the no-trust motion moved by the Seemandhra Congress MPs in the just concluded winter session of Lok Sabha. On the contrary, the TDP proved to be a divided house with four of the six MPs giving notice of no-confidence while two were nowhere to be seen.
Jagan further added that the conduct of Kiran and Naidu in the Assembly was also questionable. Naidu does not even attend the BAC meeting and remains confined to his chambers. His blink-and-miss appearance in the House was only to record that the discussion had begun.
He reiterated that YSR Congress will stand for a united State and said that his party, after the 2014 elections, will extend support only to them who assure to keep the State united.
