In a heinous incident the train which was on board from Nannded to Bangalore (16953) At least 23 passengers died and many were injured. The train was observed burning near Kothacheruvu Mandal of Anathapur district. At least 11 people were killed in their sleeping berths and a few injured .

According to reports it is learnt that the train travelling from Nanded - Bangalore the AC D1, D2 compartments of the train caught fire today early morning around 3:30 am. Many could rescue themselves but still few might have struck in the burning train says the railway team.

According to reports at least 57 passengers were on board including children.

At least a dozen including a 3 year old is rushed to the Dharmavaram hospital. According to reports the baby's condition is critical. the three year old is now shifted to Ananthapur hospital says latest reports

A rescue team is sent along with a special train to the spot, to drop the rest of the passengers to their respective destinations. Meanwhile Lokesh Kumar the collector of Dharmavaram visited the site and doing up inquiry on this.

The major reason behind the fire accident could be because of the short circuit says the railway emergency team. However they did not come to any conclusion on this.
