According to the available information, 70% of the road accidents are caused due to the negligent driving and not following the rules and regulations, strictly. In a day, almost 25,000 vehicles pass through the Gachibowli and Shamshabad route; and most of the vehicles ply at very high speed.
HMDA initiates measures to avoid road accidents
As a preventive measure, on the request of Cyberabad Police, the Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) have handed over four patrol vehicles, well equipped with speed guns and breath analyzers to monitor the busy route and verify reckless, negligent and rash drivers.
In addition to the foresaid, increased number of sign boards with cautionary information; a new device called Cat’s eye has been deployed on the road. A road safety week has been planned jointly by HGCL and RTA, to bring up the awareness levels of the drivers.
