‘Grama Sabhalu’ in Nellore from today, Grama Sabhalu. The Collector said in a press meeting at Nellore on Wednesday that the Grama Sabhalu will be organised for 10 days as per GOMS No: 790.

Nellore: For the first time in the State, ‘Grama Sabhalu’ will be organised in Nellore district from Thursday (January 2). Nellore District Collector N Srikanth had evolved a new programme to know about the implementation and results of various government schemes and the local officials working method, directly from the public and also their reaction through voting. The government had agreed to implement this new scheme in the entire State which is initially launching in Nellore district.
It should be noted here that the Collector earlier also introduced a new system in which the grievances of the public on the Greivance Day will be examined on the spot.
The Collector said in a press meeting at Nellore on Wednesday that the Grama Sabhalu will be organised for 10 days as per GOMS No: 790.
Elaborating on the programme, the Collector said this was like a self-test for the government to know the results of various government schemes from the public through voting in the 940 panchayats in the district. Additional Joint Collector Challa Penchal Reddy would monitor this Grama Sabhalu which will be organised by District Panchayat Raj department, he added.
