New Delhi: Union Science & Technology Minister S Jaipal Reddy on Wednesday flayed the action of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy against Minister D Sridhar Babu. This was nothing but a move to obstruct the process of discussion on the Telangana Bill, by provoking the people of Telangana. But his designs would not succeed, Jaipal Reddy said. In fact, Jaipal Reddy complimented the Telangana Congress leaders for exercising exemplary restraint and not getting provoked by the actions of the Chief Minister.

“Time and tide wait for none. The Constitutional tide has rolled out and no one can roll it back,” was the cryptic advice of Jaipal Reddy to Chief Minister Kiran Reddy.Sending out a strong message to the Chief Minister , Jaipal Reddy said the process of creation of Telangana was set on an irrevocable course. “Nothing that the Chief Minister does will really affects the process of creation of Telangana. What the Chief Minister does is indeed irrelevant,” he said.

Jaipal Reddy said, “I am in touch with the Telangana Ministers. They have met Governor E S L Narasimhan and complained to him on the action against Sridhar Babu. I think that is the right course and they have followed it correctly.”

While conceding that it is the prerogative of the Chief Minister to change the portfolios of his Ministers, Jaipal Reddy insisted that in the present case, it had been misused by the Chief Minister. It was aimed at provoking an adverse reaction among the people and deflecting the attention away from issue, the debate of the Telangana Bill in the.

Jaipal Reddy had a word of advice for the TDP and YSRCP. Instead of hitting the streets or going to the court, the best way out for them was to discuss the issue in the Assembly, which was the proper forum. They should participate in the discussion and give their views, as desired by the President, he said.
