Hyderabad: The newly-appointed Minister for Legislative Affairs S Sailajanath said as an integrationist, he wanted the Assembly to adopt a resolution in support of united Andhra Pradesh before taking up a debate on AP Reorganisation Bill.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Saturday, he said that in the wake of strong demand from the political parties for united Andhra Pradesh, the Assembly should adopt a resolution in favour of Samaikyandhra.

He would place the issue before the Business Advisory Committee and the government would take a final decision on it at the BAC meeting, he added.

Stating that the debate on Telangana Bill was yet to begin in the Assembly, the Minister said that although he was a strong supporter of United Andhra he, as minister for legislative affairs, would act as per the rules and procedures .

He said the debate on the T Bill would certainly help the members to raise their concerns and demands. It would also provide an opportunity to highlight the loopholes in the Bill, he added.

Expressing serious concern over the way the legislators were obstructing the House, the Minister appealed to all the members to cooperate with the government in taking up debate on the AP Reorganisation Bill.
