TET likely on Feb 9; DSC doubtfulbefore polls, Teacher Eligibility Test Date, VRO Exam Date. But the official expressed doubts whether the all-important DSC examination would be held before the next elections.

Hyderabad: The much-delayed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is likely to be held on February 9. According to a top official of Secondary Education, the file relating to the conduct of TET has been sent to both the Minister K Parthasarathy and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. It is expected that they would give a go-ahead for it. Two dates – January 19 and February 2 – were earlier considered, but both of them were nixed. It was felt that January 19 may be too early for the candidates to prepare themselves for the exam. Since VRO exam is scheduled on February 2, it is also not considered.

But the official expressed doubts whether the all-important DSC examination would be held before the next elections. “We have too little time now. TET results cannot be declared before February-end and after that, at least 20 days time shall be given for DSC. But the election code of conduct may come into force by that time. Moreover, several groups have also been demanding postponement of the exam due to the raging issue of bifurcation,” he explained.
