According to sources, the incident took place on Tuesday when the woman, Bharathi, from Shapur, Jeedimetla, was admitted to the hospital for delivery.

As labour pains started the duty RMO and nurses attended to her and conducted the delivery. But the real problem started later when the patient started bleeding profusely. While handling the case the staff acted negligently and wounded the uterus with the surgical equipment. With this, blood started oozing from patient’s body. As they realised the seriousness of the situation, the nurses asked the patient’s relatives to bring blood immediately.

Meanwhile, they failed to control the blood flow and finally without taking the consent of the patient’s relatives they removed the uterus of the patient. Bharathi delivered a baby boy who was also injured in the mix-up. The relatives of the patient got angry and staged a protest in front of the hospital.

The relatives flayed the role of the local police and alleged that the police too misbehaved with them while shifting Bharathi to Osmania Hospital.
