Siddipet: Once the Prajana Chevella project was completed, the Telangana would turn lush green, Minister for Major Irrigation Sudarshan Reddy said here on Friday. The minister along with Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao and MLC Farooq Hussain has visited the reservoir under construction near Tadkapalli in Siddipet mandal.

Later, addressing the meeting, the minister said that about 16 lakh acres in Telangana had no irrigation facility and once the Chevella project was completed, these lands would be brought under cultivation. He said that the Tadkapalli reservoir which would be built in 24 km area would store 27 tmc water. According to minister, tenders have been called for the Kantanpalli reservoir in Warangal district.
Harish Rao said that Tadkapalli reservoir was the biggest one in the state. Irrigation system would be considerably improved in Medak district with the completion of the reservoir, he added.
After he appealed to the minister to expedite the work on Pranahita project, the minster assured that the foundation stone would be laid soon for the project.
MLC Farooq Hussain expressed hope that the project would be completed during the tenure of Minister Sudarsan Reddy. Later, the minister was felicitated by the MLA and the MLC.Siddipet RDO Mutyam Reddy, Project officials Adityanath Das, C Narayan Reddy, SC Narasimha Rao, V Govinda Rao, D Ravindar Reddy, Siddipet AMC chairman Srinivas, party leaders Tupakula Blrangam, Mareddi Ravindar Reddy, Siddipet mandal sarpanch forum president Bhumaiahgari Kishan Reddy, Siddipet PACS chairman Nalla Narendar Reddy and others participated in the meeting.
