Hyderabad: Stepping up their fight against State’s bifurcation, the APNGOs on Tuesday served strike notice to the State government stating that they would go on indefinite strike from Wednesday midnight.

Putting the government on notice, APNGOs president P Ashok Babu informed that all the employees were against the division of the State and they would go on an indefinite strike from midnight of February 5.

Ashok Babu, who came to the secretariat to meet Chief Secretary PK Mohanty, served the notice to the Principal Secretary General Administration, S K Sinha, as Mohanty was away in Warangal to take stock of the arrangements for the Sammakka and Saralamma Jathara. In the letter, he said that the division of the State would have a serious impact on the future of the employees and pensioners. “Uncertainty in respect of options, transfers, promotions and seniority of employees would prevail and the lives of the employees would be miserable with the division,” he said, adding that the statements of leaders created a flutter among employees over their future.

Against this backdrop, he said, they had organised the indefinite strike from midnight of August 12, 2013, and temporarily withdrawn it on October 17, 2013.

He said that the emergency state executive committee meeting was held on Monday at NGO Home and the service associations of government employees like revenue, excise, treasury, cooperation, commercial taxes, municipal corporations, Panchayat Raj, teachers, VROs, VRAs, ICDS, medical, public sector units and electricity board participated in the meeting.
