YSRCP to support Adala? According to the sources, the YSR Congress had changed its stance on Rajya Sabha elections.
According to the sources, the YSR Congress had changed its stance on Rajya Sabha elections. It is all set to support the candidature of Adala Prabhakar Reddy, the Congress Party rebel in the Rajya Sabha fray. Adala’s close relatives in YSRCP, Mekapati reportedly convinced Jagan to vote for Adala.
If the same is accurate, with this support, Adala will win the support of 23 MLAs. He also fastened hopes on the support of 2 MLAs of CPM party. By this, Adala is just short of 5 MLAs to win Rajya Sabha seat. To this effect, an announcement was made by Adala himself. However, the YSRCP is yet to announce it officially.
While all is set a sure win for the remaining five candidates, the sixth seat being competed by K Keshava Rao and Adala will lead for a tug of war. As the system of election is an open ballet method, cross voting will not be possible. So, now all eyes are on February 7, when the elections will be held.
