Medaram Jatara hundi counting begins, Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara hundi collection. More than 200 endowments and revenue staff were being employed for the counting of the hundis which was being monitored by eight closed circuit cameras.

Warangal: The counting of Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara hundis has begun at Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams Kalyana Mandapam at the district head- quarters on Monday.

Mulugu MLA Seetakka has formally inaugurated the counting in the presence of the District Collector G Kishan and the Medaram temple executive officer D Rajeshwar. The first day counting was Rs 62.50 lakhs and the counting would go on for five more days. A total of 410 hundis were kept at the altars of the deities Sammakka, Saralamma, Pagididdaraju and Govindaraju and the counting takes place separately for each of the altars and later would be summed up. A few hundis were still at the Medaram as the devotees rush continued.
