New Delhi: Ending confusion on whether the elections to the State Assembly and Lok Sabha would be held in the united State or two States, Union Minister for Home Sushil Kumar Shinde on Sunday said that it would take another three months time to complete the process of bifurcation.

This statement of Shinde has further kindled the hopes of CM aspirants in the State from both regions.

Speaking to reporters in Delhi on Sunday, Shinde said no decision had been taken yet about the imposition of the President's Rule in the State or installing new government. He said necessary steps to make alternative arrangements following the resignation of Kiran Kumar Reddy were being made.

Following his statement, CM aspirants like PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana, Deputy Chief Minister C Damodara Rajanarasimha and Ministers Kanna Lakshminarayana, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and N Raghuveera Reddy have intensified their lobbying to become the interregnum CM.

The Congress high command, sources said, is likely to take a final decision on whether to have a new Chief Minister or promulgate the President’s Rule by Tuesday.
