New Delhi: The AICC in charge of Andhra Pradesh state affairs, Digvijay Singh said KCR has given an indication that there will be the merger of TRS party in the Congress Party. He said KCR called on Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi and gave indication to them regarding the party’s merger.

Digvijay told media soon after Seemandhra leaders concluded their talks with Sonia Gandhi. Diggy said though the special sop to Seemandhra was given for 5 years, the state would get concessions in taxes for 10 years. He reiterated that Polavaram project will be realized as scheduled. Further, he said Sonia Gandhi has asked the leaders to take the ‘Seemandhra favouring issues’ into the people of the region.

Sonia Gandhi has now been focusing for a share to Seemandhra from KG basin allocations, added Diggy. He said the leaders have discussed on various issues with Sonia. Further, Diggy said there will be a special committee for Seemandhra party as well as elections. There will also be a special manifesto, he added. Diggy said there was a plan to hold meetings in Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra in March and April which will be attended by Sonia and Rahul on the request of Seemandhra leaders.

Diggy said from 2004 to 2014, the state was developed to a great extent under the Congress party ruling. He wished the two states will compete with each other, after bifurcation. He said the two states will have a healthy competition and will cooperate with ach other. He said under special privileges scheme, Seemandhra will get 90% grants from the centre. He said regarding the new capital, the specialist committee appointed exclusively for the purpose would decide. He said they were awaiting the approval of the Telangana Bill by the President and issue of gazette.
