Telangana, a long pending demand: Jairam Ramesh

Guntur: Jairam Ramesh, the senior Congress Party leader and member of GoM on Tuesday said that Congress Party will lead the team in preserving the benefits of Seemandhra. As part of his Guntur tour, Jairam addressed the media in Guntur. He said Telangana was not given to get political benefit in looming 2014 elections. Telangana was a long pending demand, added Jairam.

Further, he said Congress Party has ensured the profits for Seemandhra while carving Telangana.

Jairam said it was the lesson learnt from Hyderabad that the development should not be centered at one particular place. He said there were many cities in Seemandhra for the establishment of capital city. He said in future, there will be an explicit growth throughout the state and said that a committee will be formed within a week to decide the Seemandhra capital.

He said the development of Seemandhra will be decentralized. He said there was a possibility that capital will be at one place, Assembly at other place and offices at various another places. The specialist committee will take everything into consideration, said Jairam. He said all the 84,000 government employees will be divided between the two states based on the population ratio and options.
