Hyderabad: The EAMCET has been rescheduled in view of General Elections. Instead of May 17, it will be held on May 22. The EAMCET committee which met here on Thursday discussed all the issues threadbare and decided to defer it by just five days only, according to Prof L Venugopala Reddy, the Chairman of the AP State Council of Higher Education.

The rescheduling of the exam was expected as the counting day of elections was decided as May 16. Many colleges and schools in all district centres will be taken over by the administration for counting of votes. Finally, it was decided to hold EAMCET on May 22, a day after POLYCET.

It was decided to declare results on June 2, but they are likely between June 7 and 10. June 2 is the formation day of the two new states. The entire process will end on July 31, the deadline set by the SC. Last date for submission of applications online is April 4.
