Close on the heels of Telangana JAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram’s subtle criticism directed at the TRS leadership, a senior worker of the TRS, Raheemunnisa Begum, a firebrand activist, has quit the party.
She announced her resignation here on Tuesday and launched a tirade against the TRS and its chief K Chandrasekhar Rao. She sought to know the logic behind admitting persons like Konda couple into the party. “I am very sad at the TRS decision. I have suffered serious injuries and was beaten up by the police when I took part in the statehood agitations in the State and in New Delhi. I have spent lakhs of rupees on my own to get treatment,” she said. “But now, the party has now forgotten the sacrifices of activists who have fought for the cause. Though I have quit the party I am not joining any other party,” she told The Hans India.
