According to sources, the Panchayat Secretary Venkateswara Rao has demanded Rs 400 towards bribe for issuing Birth Certificate to Aruna, a woman who recently gave birth to a female child. She needed the Birth Certificate to apply for Bangaru Talli welfare scheme. As Aruna failed to pay the bribe, the said Panchayat Secretary has issued Aruna with the Death Certificate instead of Birth Certificate. The matter went viral among in the village. Going on with the intervention of the villagers, the Panchayat Secretary accepted his blunder and said that it happened by mistake and unintentionally.
