Hyderabad: Governor Orders Magisterial Probe into Firing

The Governor who held a marathon review meeting with the Chief Secretary, DGP, Home Secretary, and other top brass police officers decided that a magisterial probe should be ordered into the firing by BSF personnel on the mob. The Advisor to the Governor was also present at the meeting.

It was also decided that an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 should be paid to the grievously injured people. The government will also take the responsibility of providing best medical treatment free of cost in any corporate hospital under the Arogyasri scheme and compensation would be provided towards loss of property to the affected as per the norms.

The MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi welcomed the announcements made by the Governor. He, however, demanded that a murder case be booked against senior officials who were responsible for the firing. Owaisi said that the MIM would extend all assistance to the families of those killed in police firing and other victims of Kishanbagh violence.
