Hyderabad: Curfew in Kishanbagh Relaxed for Four Hours, The curfew in force in Kishanbagh area under Rajendranagar police limits for the fourth consecutive day was relaxed for four hours on Saturday to facilitate people to purchase essential commodities.
Hyderabad: The curfew in force in Kishanbagh area under Rajendranagar police limits for the fourth consecutive day was relaxed for four hours on Saturday to facilitate people to purchase essential commodities. Following instructions from Cyberabad Police Commissioner CV Anand, the curfew was relaxed from 7 am to 9 am and from 3 pm to 5 pm, official sources said.
The restriction on public movement was clamped on May 14 under Section 144 of CrPC in the wake of communal clashes following the death of three persons. The clashes were sparked by alleged desecration of a religious flag by some miscreants. The situation in the riot-hit Sikh Chawni and Arsh Mahal areas of Kishanbagh remained peaceful except for some stray incidents on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a few voluntary organisations visited the violence affected families in the Arsh Mahal area and distributed milk and groceries. Police and paramilitary personnel, including two companies of the Rapid Action Force have been patrolling the area following violence and arson. So far, police registered 10 cases and arrested 23 persons in connection with the violence.
