Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday called upon CM-designate of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao and TJAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram to stop making statements that could ignite regional passions.
Speaking to the media after meeting the Governor, Naidu said that both Telangana and the residual state of Andhra Pradesh should compete with each other in development. He said that while the TDP would extend its full cooperation in the process of development of the new State, it would not remain a mute spectator if the pink party continued with its attitude of creating rift between the Telugu speaking people.
He said theTDP had greater responsibility as it had to protect the interests of people from Telangana and Seemandhra. He said the TDP had made this promise to the people from both parts and would stand by its commitment. He exuded confidence that by 2019, TDP would come to power in Telangana State as well.
Stating that Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad were deprived of development because of the continuous movements in the State in the past few years, Naidu said, “It is easy for anybody to make provocative statements and drive away Andhra industrialists and people from here. But, they should think that such actions would cause damage to the development of the new State.”
