Rajahmundry: YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday accused his TDP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu of resorting to dramas in the name of appending the first signature on the loan waiver file. Criticising Naidu at a media conference here, Jagan claimed he had predicted that there was no guarantee of loan waiver even if Naidu signed the file, unable to face the people’s wrath. He alleged that some media houses were conspiring trying to change the people’s mindset by spreading news that the State’s financial condition would not allow the implementation of the loan waiver. Jagan opined that the loan waiver was not going to be implemented by Naidu.

The YSRCP leader maintained that he was not going to support unnecessary expenditure on Naidu’s swearing-in when the State was facing financial problems. He questioned the need to spend at least Rs 30 crore for the event, while urging the people to donate to build the new capital. Jagan said the people had given mandate to YSRCP to put pressure on the government as a powerful Opposition party. The party would do its duty. He claimed that the YSRCP graph never declined. It could win 67 Assembly and eight Lok Sabha seats within three years of formation. Answering a question, he refuted that the party was conducting review meetings because it lost elections. It was only seeking opinion of activists to help strengthen the organisation from the grass-root level. The party was identifying reasons for the poll defeat in order to register victories in future.
