Hyderabad: Bhupalpalle MLA Sirikonda Madhusudhana Chari will be first Speaker of Telangana Assembly. Chari’s election is going to be unanimous affair with all opposition parties supporting his candidature on Monday.
Madhusudhana Chari filed his nomination papers at Assembly Secretary’s chambers soon after the House was adjourned. He was accompanied Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and floor leaders of the opposition parties -- Geetha Reddy (Congress), Errabelli Dayaker Rao (TDP) and Dr K Laxman (BJP). The official announcement regarding Madhusudhan Chari’s appointment as Speaker will be made on Tuesday. Meanwhile Padma Devender Reddy is expected to be elected as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly after the election of the speaker.
