Hyderabad: Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, the former and last Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, is reportedly joining Bhartiya Janta Party, according to sources close to him. It is learnt that Kiran Kumar Reddy has been pacified to join BJP by his siblings, who are close to the BJP leaders of Karnataka.

It is evident that Kiran Kumar Reddy has strongly opposed the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, despite the fact that the bifurcation proposal had come from the same agency i.e the Congress Party High Command, which only had appointed him as the Chief Minister. Bowing to the failure to stop the state bifurcation, Kiran Kumar Reddy had quit the Congress Party and floated a new party in the name Jai Samikyandhra Party (JSP). The party also contested the polls but failed to grab at least a single seat.

Kiran Kumar Reddy at earlier instances has equally blamed BJP for supporting the state bifurcation. Nevertheless, in order to maintain his presence in the politics, reportedly, Kiran Kumar Reddy is looking for joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.

From the other end, it is learnt that BJP is also considering the matter favourably, as taking one of the Congress Party’s former Chief Minister in their team would add on their strength in the region of Andhra Pradesh.

Both the BJP authorities and Kiran Kumar Reddy himself, however, were not available for their comments on this issue, added sources.
