Nellore: Lorry Hits Stationary Tempo; 5 Killed. On the midnight of Wednesday, near Narthurjupalem in Nellore district on the national highway, a lorry dashed with a stationary tempo parked aside of the road.
Nellore: On the midnight of Wednesday, near Narthurjupalem in Nellore district on the national highway, a lorry dashed with a stationary tempo parked aside of the road. In this incident 5 people hailing from Prakasham district were died on the spot. Also, three people sustained stern injuries. Of these three victims, the condition of the two persons is said to be very critical. 12 members of the same family from Kurichedu village of Prakasam district were on their way to Tirumala. Near Narthurajupalem of Kodavaluru mandal in Nellore district the tyre of their tempo got punctured.
The driver parked the vehicle by the side of the road and was changing the tyre. The family members sat on the road and all of sudden a lorry rammed over them killing 5 of them on the spot. Those who lost the lives are Ramana Reddy (45), his wife Adi Lakshmi (40), Ramana Reddy’s niece Ashwini (22), Ramana Reddy’s sister Kashamma (35). All those died on the spot, while Hari lost his life in the hospital. Those sustained injuries include Venkat Reddy (35), Keerthi (5), Geetha Koteshwari (7). The condition of Keerthi is said to be very critical. The victims have been rushed to Nellore government hospital for the treatment. More details are awaited.
