Hyderabad: Many villages along the banks of Krishna and Tungabhadra Rivers have received flood alert going on with the heavy inflow of water from Karnataka. It is learnt that the heavy inflows of water will continue for two more days due to nonstop rains in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Officials have set up a control room in Kurnool to provide information about water level in the rivers and threat of flood to villages.

It is expected that the Srisailam will be full in the next three days if the heavy inflow of water continues from the upper area. The water level was 841 ft on Saturday and increased by 6 feet to attain the latest level of 850.10 ft by evening on Sunday.

From the other end, meteorological department has forecast heavy to very heavy rain in view of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. Though there has been a reported meteorological drought recorded in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, due to the heavy inflow of water into the dams there will not be any scarcity of water. May be temporary but surely such heavy inflow of water will stop the fight between the two Telugu states for water.
