P. Narayana to file nomination for MLC today, Dr. P.Narayana, one of the two deputy Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and the Minister for Urban Development, will be filing nomination on Monday at 11 a.m. for the MLC post.

Hyderabad: Dr. P.Narayana, one of the two deputy Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and the Minister for Urban Development, will be filing nomination on Monday at 11 a.m. for the MLC post. Monday turns to be the last day for filing nominations for election of MLC under the MLAs quota. The nomination papers will be submitted by P. Narayana to the Assembly In Charge Secretary and Returning Official Satyanarayana at 11 a.m. on Monday, reportedly.
The election for the MLC seat that has fallen vacant with the resignation of Kolagatla Veerabhadraswamy will be held on August 21. Till Sunday evening, not even a single nomination was filed for the vacant post. Monday turns to be the last day for submitting the nominations, while on Tuesday the nominations will be scrutinised. The last day for the withdrawal of the nominations is August 14.
It is worth mentioning here that P. Narayana is not a member of either house at present - and as per the Constitution of Republic of India it is mandatory that any such person functioning in the government and not a member of either house have to get elected to any one of the houses within a period of six months from the time he becomes part of the government.
