Delivering an expert lecture on ‘Nanotechnology for Cancer Diagnosis’ at Gitam University in the presence of Gitam medical experts, he said: “Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) is a cell surface protein over-expressed in cancerous cells.

EGFR concentration also increases in the serum of cancer patients and the detection of small changes in the concentration of EGFR can be critical for early diagnosis. This ultimately helps to start treatment with personalised medicine.”

He also spoke about important issues like green nanotechnology, and nano-electrodes. He answered the questions raised by Gitam medical experts. Gitam University president MVVS Murthi lauded the guest for his research capability in the area of nanotechnology and said Gitam was interested in taking up joint research programmes with Texas University.
