Minister Y RamakrishnuduHyderabad: The AP government criticised the YSRCP for derailing the proceedings of the Assembly on Monday.
Minister for Legislative Affairs Y Ramakrishnudu lashed out at the YSRCP leaders for taking a U-turn within minutes of agreeing to cooperate in smooth conduct of the House and take up various issues for discussion.

He said the government always wanted to take the opposition party along with them. Hence, the government had urged the Speaker to talk to YS Jaganmohan Reddy and see that he attended the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, which he had decided to boycott.

According to the Minister, as TS government wanted to hold its budget session in September, the AP government had proposed to conclude its Assembly session on September 6 after conducting business in 16 working days. Jagan, who initially wanted the session to be held till September 12, endorsed the government's decision to end the session earlier, considering the administrative and security problems that would arise if the session continued beyond that date.

It was decided that budget would be presented on August 20 and debate on it would be held in the next six days. The appropriation bill would be introduced in the last week of the session.

The BAC had also finalised to hold the sessions on all Saturdays, so that all formalities including debate on certain subjects like education, health and price rise were completed during the session.

He said there was no need for the YSRCP to create pandemonium in the Assembly since neither the Speaker nor the government had refused to discuss the issue of law and order.

The government only pointed out that there was no reason to accept the Adjournment Motion. Unfortunately, the YSRCP leaders refused to learn the rules and utilise them in a proper manner to conduct the business and corner the government, he added.
