Botcha SatyanarayanaKakinada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has failed to secure either the promised special status for the State or funds for the new capital, alleged former APCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana here on Saturday.

Speaking to the media, he observed that there were no experts in the committee appointed to choose the State capital. Botcha welcomed the government’s decision on Vijayawada as the capital, while pointing out that various places could not be selected because of some difficulties. He wanted the government to ensure that the new projects announced across the State should benefit the people and not real estate business men.

The former PCC president said the party would strive to expose the government’s inefficiency to the people in the run-up to the two by-elections.

Meanwhile, Botcha consoled the former Union minister M M Pallam Raju, who recently lost his father M S Sanjeeva Rao recently, after calling on him at his residence. He described Rao’s death as an irreparable loss both for the country and the State, after paying floral tributes to the portrait. Former ministers Vatti Vasanthkumar and Kasu Venkatakrishna Reddy were present.
