Saakshar Bharat National Award was given for making 4.75 lakh people literate within nine months
Ongole (Prakasam): District Collector G S R K R Vijay Kumar received the prestigious Saakshar Bharat National Award from President Pranab Mukherjee at a function held to coincide with International Literacy Day at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday. The award was given to the Collector for his efforts in the implementation of Adult Literacy Programme on a successful note. The Collector took up various measures to make 4.75 lakh people literate in a short span of nine months in the district.
