APCC to take on TDP, The meeting decided that the rank and file should attend the Janmabhoomi and Mana Vooru programme and question the ministers over the delay in implementing loan waiver scheme.

Finalises action plan to revive party in the State

APCC president N Raghuveera ReddyHyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Thursday decided to take on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government and utilise the proposed Janmabhoomi and Mana Vooru programmes to corner the government over delay in implementing its electoral promises like loan waiver scheme etc.

The government is making all out arrangements to launch Janmabhoomi programme from October 2.

APCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy held a meeting with party seniors, presidents of District Congress Committees (DCCs) and other leaders of the party at Indira Bhavan and finalised an action plan to revive the party in the State and reactivate the party cadre.

The meeting decided that the rank and file should attend the Janmabhoomi and Mana Vooru programme and question the ministers over the delay in implementing loan waiver scheme.

They also asked the Congress cadres to corner the government during the mass contact programme over non-fulfilment of other poll promises that were included in the TDP’s manifesto including enhancement of old-age pension, Rs 1,000 dole to unemployed youth etc.

Later talking to media, former minister C Ramachandraiah demanded that the State government use the ‘Janmabhoomi -Mana Vooru’ programme as a platform to address public grievances. He alleged that the government did not appear to be committed to implement the poll promises. He also demanded that the government convene an all-party meeting to discuss the drought situation in the State since almost all the districts had received an average of 33 percent less than normal rainfall.

Apart from APCC chief Raghuveera and Ramachandraiah, former ministers of the Congress including Botcha Satyanarayana, Sake Sailajanath and Kondru Murali Mohan were also present in the meeting.
