With the world going gaga over cyber technology and extensive social media networks, here comes a startling fact of several escort websites delivering women just after a click of a mouse. Several websites and blogs have come up to provide escorts and personal services to clients within a city and district.

In a city like Vijayawada, which is known for its rowdy-ism and crime, issues like flesh trade and girl trafficking have remained ignored. There has been an unprecedented growth in the flesh trade business by putting cyber technology and internet to good use. It is no longer true that pimps work vigorously to find clients and provide security to both the client and escort. With contact information updated on their websites and blogs on an hourly basis, they fix the deal and appointment through mobiles or e-mails.

They do not see each other and most of their transactions are done online. After the money is credited into their bank accounts, the escort will be delivered at their door or dropped off at the appointed place.

For the convenience of clients, pimps ensure the pictures and information of the escort women are displayed on the websites. Though the semblance of the pictures displayed on the websites to the actual escort is questionable, pimps still manage to attract clients.

The business has categories of women to choose from such as college girls, housewives, models, upcoming models, anchors, B. Tech girls, album artistes (high range) and alike. The price varies depending on the choice and duration. Upon contacting the agent of the escort websites, it is learnt that they seek identification proof of the client along with the amount credited in order to seal a deal.

Meanwhile, the police department does not have any special teams for curbing the menace of escort websites and blogs. Their focus is limited to busting local prostitution rackets.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Md Tafseer Iqbal said, “We are not entitled to look into cyber crime as there is a separate act and policy for it. If there is any complaint regarding the activity as such, we would definitely take the necessary measures. However, we will discuss the matter and come out with an action plan to curb the escort websites.”
