Sachin Tendulkar to visit Kandriga on Nov 16

Nellore: Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, MP, who has adopted Puttarajuvari Kandriga in Gudur mandal of Nellore district will visit the village on November 16. He will lay foundation for several development works and interact with local residents.
Collector Srikanth gave details of Sachin’s tour after holding a review meeting with Joint-Collector Rekha Rani and district officials here on Sunday. He said the former India Test cricketer had released Rs 2.79 crore from his MPLADS funds, which would be made available by the Collector for creating several basic facilities, like underground drainage, in the village on the lines of those available in foreign countries.
Srikanth said the facilities include, internal roads, a modern cremation ground and community halls. He stated that, as was being done in Gujarat, community rearing of milch animals, milk collection and computer billing would be introduced on an experimental basis in Kandriga.
The Collector said special training would be given to the village women in tailoring and manufacturing of jute products. He asked officials to strengthen the Self-Help Groups in Kandriga.
