On the second Sunday of the auspicious Karthika Masam, many families with friends and dear ones, thronged the ideal getaway Bhavani Island. The sprawling island with activities for all had more than 1,000 visitors on Sunday alone.
The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) came up with special packages for visitors to make the best of their time on the island and Berm Park. Several cultural activities were organised for visitors to beat the routine besides lunch.
S Nagabushana Rao, supervisor of Bhavani Island, said, “We had arranged for an anchor to facilitate cultural and game shows. Tailor made packages worth Rs 200 and Rs 280 are in place to suit the budget requirement of the visitors. The package includes lunch along with to and fro boating charges from Berm Park.”
“The package of Rs 200 will serve as many as 14 varieties for a meal while additional dishes like pulav rice (basmati), naan, paneer curry, green salad and desserts will be served for the package of Rs 280 per head. The packages are applicable on Sundays through the season or for a group of more than 30 people whenever they want,” Nagabhushana added.
The recent adventurous activities that were opened up for public at the island received the right amount of attention from children and youth.
